Bilbao Day 2

on

Today was our first full day in Bilbao! We went to the engineering school to learn about Oreka-Balance and Basque Country. It was so intriguing to learn about the process behind creating a medical device, including patents and testing. The Oreka-Balance machine is used at the Gorliz Hospital to test the balance and center of mass of stroke patients. This helps to build a better path for rehabilitation. We had lunch in the engineering school, consisting of pasta, chicken, and chocolate pudding. Before leaving the engineering school, we did a Kahoot about Bilbao.

Next, we went on a walking tour of Bilbao starting at the Cathedral, the football field in the city. We learned about the celebration that the football team has on a boat through the river. We then walked around the newer part of town and explored the different artworks and infrastructure that makes it unique! One of the buildings is a boat flipped upside-down! We also saw some mansions and a Puppy made entirely out of flowers. Then, we stopped for coffee and pintxos in a very interesting building with decorative columns modeled after different countries. Next, we explored old town and the river, with a lot of cool buildings and architecture, and of course more pintxos!
