Hunt (Korea, Day 2!)

Day 2 has officially wrapped of our Korea trip!

Quite a fun one. We started our day with breakfast at the hotel (a trend), to which I then followed with a coffee from one of the many convenient stores (a zero sugar sweet Americano and soy milk is a great combo; definitely recommend!), before we got hit with a surprise scavenger hunt event as a fun alternative to sightseeing!

We traveled with one of the trip’s organizers, and went to the first location (Jogyesa, or Jogye Temple). Today was Children’s day, so it was quite busy and had a couple of fun games and events occurring to celebrate. It’s a Buddhist temple, to our knowledge, and had a huge gold statue and some gorgeous lanterns and prayer areas. Afterwards, we ended up going to the National Museum of Korea.

That museum is huge! We waited for a bit before going into the food court for lunch (was okay, nothing special). I had black bean noodles with a side of dumplings, and afterwards, went to the gift shop to pick up some souvenirs for my cousins and then explored the museum itself (and the porcelain jar exhibit) before stopping at the museum cafe for a quick tea break (the tea tasted vaguely like Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal milk) with Emma.

To wrap up the day, we went to a K-Pop dance class! I’ve done K-Pop dance before through FRESA (check us out!) at Pitt, but this was my first time doing a real class with a pro. The guy was very nice, and we ended up learning a bit of Swim by BTS. Lots of fun! We took many videos. I hit a couple of people a few times because that room was a little tiny for 21 students, but it was still a good time.

I wrapped up the day by grabbing another sweet Americano (I’m addicted, I think! Haha), and by picking up some cute (but overpriced) plush K-Pop Demon Hunters keychains for my other cousins. Quite a fun, eventful day! Tomorrow we get into some more business-type stuff, so I’m excited to see how that goes!

Today’s title is named after Hunt, by Day6.
