Visiting Lambda’s construction site and their goals when building parts of the Ellinikon was eye opening to say the least. Their development, of not only physical structures but software as well, was very impressive to say the least. I was most impressed by the GIS (guided information system) created for the project. For some context, the GIS is a software that uses data and converts it into xyz coordinates to then make a 2D map up to a 6D map. I find it quite inspiring of the amount of data that was converted to make something so simple as these maps, yet so vital for the construction. Through the understanding of the GIS software and how it was made, it makes me realize that the importance of everything, even something this miniscule is important in everyday work. Especially as the software can be used for more than just construction but the building of maybe smaller things or to understand something that was already built and how they built it.
