Scavenger Hunt Through Seoul

on

Today, we were expecting a day full of sightseeing and tours, but instead, we were assigned to find Dr. Yun through a scavenger hunt! We got to use the subway on our own and figured out where he was by following the hints. We ended up at Jogyesa Temple and it was really pretty there. It was full of lanterns and each lantern had a wish from somebody. We also learned that all the white lanterns represent deceased people.

As we kept following the hints, we ended up at the National Museum of Korea and found Dr. Yun on the stairs. Dr. Yun paid for all of our lunches! The lunch was really good and it was nice to have lunch with everyone in the group. Afterwards, Emily, Anshi, V, and I went around to see the different exhibits throughout the museum. It was really cool and interesting to see how so many parts around the world connect to Korea. We saw a lot of sculptures and art. We also went to this sensory room, where we learned about this ancient bell and how to imagine sounds.

Our last activity of the day was a K-pop dance class! We learned the choreography for the song SWIM by BTS. Our instructor was very nice and he taught choreography to other groups like BLACKPINK and Stray Kids. The dance was hard to remember but it was very fun to learn.

We took a lot of public transportation today and now I feel a lot more comfortable using it on my own. I’ve been learning a lot about Korea here and it’s so interesting to see the culture and learn about the lifestyle here.
