Wait… I Think Neon Yellow is My Color

Today was a busy day starting with a rich historical tour of Athens followed by a great tour of the Ellinikon project with LAMDA Development. LAMDA is the company leading the construction and management of the Ellinikon, hosting a large variety of engineers from different disciplines and backgrounds. During our visit, they introduced us to BIM systems (Building Information Management/Modelling) and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) technology. These two technologies help LAMDA maximize efficiency during the engineering and construction processes, as well as coordinate efforts across international contractors and companies. As a developing engineer, I found our visit especially insightful since our guide, senior project manager Tasos Papapostolou was very helpful and answered all of my questions very thoroughly and carefully. Specifically, I thought it was really great to hear about how Ellinikon project is being integrated into the existing Athens architecture. In the future, I hope to be able to be as dedicated and and devoted to my work as the engineers we met today at LAMDA.
