A day of Oreka

Today I got up early again at 8:00am to shower and eat a quick breakfast before catching a private charter bus at 9:15. This bus took us to a nearby hospital called Hospital Gorliz. This hospital was SUPER amazing. It had everything to offer: A nice building design, location right by the beach, and a very interesting history (the hospital used to be owned by nuns who would help treat/rehabilitate young children). Now-a-days, the hospital is mainly used to help rehabilitate older stroke patients/older folk who have been in bad accidents.

At the hospital, we were given a wonderful presentation by the head of nurses. I always admire how hard everyone tries to be accommodating to us (even though they struggle with English, everyone always tries their best so that we can understand them. Following the presentation, we took a tour of the hospital where we got to see the Oreka-Balance machine (a project designed to aid rehabilitation) in action. It was so cool getting to learn all the ways that engineering and healthcare coincide!

After touring the hospital, we grabbed a quick lunch then headed back to the hotel via train. We then got a little bit of a break where I relaxed in the hotel room for a couple hours until dinner. We had dinner as a group at this amazing restaurant. All the food was so good and they were playing the champions league game on the TV! Unfortunately, Arsenal ended up winning, but even so I still had such a great time.
