Day 2 May 4th

Today began with an engaging and informative scavenger hunt. The first clue focused on the city’s central train station and elements of its personal and historical significance. Although we needed to research some of the answers, exploring the surrounding area led us to discover a nearby mall, which added an unexpected element to the experience.

Afterward, we traveled to a church and explored the exterior of a nearby palace. The architecture was especially interesting, as it resembled the Roman Pantheon. Seeing these mythological influences in real life was exciting, particularly because of my strong interest in mythology.

Later in the day, we visited a jeans store, which initially did not seem like it would be very interesting. However, the experience quickly became engaging when the tour guide introduced us to a pair of jeans priced at $11,500. This immediately captured my attention and encouraged me to listen more closely.

A major focus of the visit was sustainability, specifically the amount of water used in the production of jeans. Previously, producing one pair required approximately 6,000 liters of water. Due to changes in materials and processes, that number has been reduced to about 600 liters. The company replaced expensive volcanic rock with recycled plastic from the ocean, making the process both more sustainable and cost-effective. Additionally, the use of laser engraving and controlled fire techniques for clean cuts was fascinating to observe.
