Day 3 – HECHI THE GOAT

This morning, we went to the city hall of Seoul. I like to think of the city hall as the personal domicile of Hechi, Seoul’s mascot, who embodies justice and safety. We had a very nice tour guide who took us through both the new and old parts of the city hall. I enjoyed the vertical garden and also the many personal anecdotes of our guide.

While there at Seoul City Hall, we also visited the Seoul Gallery, which was chock-full of Hechi merch. I bought some souvenirs, including a Seoul bag, a Korea magnet, and a Hechi keychain, all before we started the Tong-Tong Tour. We also got to see the Minecraft Seoul exhibit and the mini-Seoul. I did manage to get a sort of drone shot over the mini city.

After the museum, we ate at a shabu-shabu place. We did everything wrong, mostly because we went on our own rather than going with Dr. Yun and company. Later, we arrived at the Arisu Water Treatment Plant to tour it. We weren’t able to take any pictures inside due to privacy concerns, but overall the presentation was really informative, and we were able to see most of the steps of the process. I really liked the lineup of each step and seeing the water get more and more clean. Then, we ate some Korean BBQ. Unlike last time, we managed to do everything correctly. The food was incredibly filling but equally tasty.

During our free time, I went to the Namsan Seoul Tower with Chris, Victor, Jake, and Ben. We took a bus up and made our way up to the observation deck at the very top. I bought a Korea shot glass for my dad. I really liked the view from up there, though paying for the view is a bit much. I might’ve liked the view by the bus stop better than the top.

HECHI IS THE GOAT.
