Over the past few days we have been able to partake in so many different historical and cultural visits whether it be cooking gyros, touring museums or hiking the Acropolis. My experiences in Greece have changed and reinspired my decision for my future career. Throughout the trip, I realized how much pride Greek people take in preserving their history through architecture, art, and engineering. Visiting the Acropolis of Athens was especially meaningful because I was able to see all the monuments in person after researching and giving a presentation on it before the trip. Learning about it on my own was interesting, but seeing it in real life gave me a much greater appreciation for the engineering and creativity required to build something so massive and lasting thousands of years ago. It inspired me to think about the impact engineers can have on society and strengthened my interest in pursuing engineering in the future.
