Hello! I am Peyton Smith, a Business Analytics Major also in the Spanish Minor, American Sign Language Certificate, and Entrepreneurship Certificate. I am participating in the Plus 3 Costa Rica program.

Costa Rica strives to be carbon neutral and eco friendly by focusing on sustainability. As our planet slowly dies, it is so frustrating to see our own government in the US do nothing (or at times fight against sustainability). So, seeing a country dedicate itself to being sustainable is so refreshing. I am exited to learn about the business level changes that they have made, and hopefuly gain some insight into how to make my own future bussiness sustainable as well.

Through their sustainability practices, Costa Rica focuses on biodiversity, regrowing thier forest, and renewable energy. They also follow sustainable agricultural practices by inspeting their people’s farms and giving them certifications.

I am looking forward to seeing the jungle that Costa Rica has fought so hard to bring back.
