We started the morning by going to tour City Hall. Before the tour, we stopped at Tim Hortons for drinks, which was a really nice way to start the day. I ordered a Dirty Diana, which was a mix of pomegranate and orange flavors. I wasn’t sure what to expect at first, but it ended up being so good and refreshing. After that, we explored City Hall, which was huge and honestly a little confusing. The building was so big that during the tour I completely lost track of where we entered and where we were compared to the entrance. Even though I was turned around most of the time, it was still really impressive to see such a modern and beautiful building. While we were there, I bought a stuffed animal for my boyfriend. It was the blue dragon character from Hechi and Friends, and it was super cute. I also got a free balloon, which was super cute too.

Later, we took the subway to the Arisu Water Purification Plant. There, we learned all about how water is filtered and distributed throughout the city. It was interesting to actually see the facility in person because I never realized how much work and technology goes into making water safe to use every day. After touring the plant, we visited the museum, which explained the purification process in even more detail. It definitely gave me a new appreciation for something I normally take for granted.

When we got back, our program had a welcome dinner at a Korean barbecue restaurant. The food was amazing, and it was really cool to have authentic Korean barbecue in Korea since I eat it pretty often back home in America. It felt familiar but also completely different at the same time.

To end the night, we went shopping in Myeongdong Street. The area was so lively and full of shops and people. I ended up buying a sunscreen stick. Overall, it was such a fun and memorable day.
