Over the past few days in Greece, we have been experiencing more cultural sites and taking in the perspective they give us. One aspect that particularly stuck out to me was the development of statues and offerings over the course of ancient history. I found it inspiring how over time they perfected their skills and worked to make statues that truly represented their wishes. As the years passed, the artists became much more detailed and were able to incorporate textures and motion into their work. Something about the dedication to detail as well as the dedication to improvement was very inspiring to me, and this is something I will be keeping in mind for my own work in the future. The scale and precision of their work is also incredible. Structures like the Parthenon display how much calculation went into each column. For structures of this size it truly took me aback, and I want to be as intentional in my work in the future as the Ancient Greeks were in the process of their arts.
