Exoskeletons and San Juan de Gaztelugatxe!

on

We started off our day by visiting a clinic that uses exoskeletons for rehabilitation purposes. It was fascinating to hear about the technology that goes into helping people regain mobility after suffering from debilitating injuries or conditions. We even got to see some of my peers test out the exoskeletons, and see them in action. In addition to exoskeletons we also tested out a nerve stimulator and other rehabilitation exercises.

Afterwards we got a tour of the physical therapy school. We got to see all of labs and machines for physical therapy rehabilitation.  Our tour guide was very informative and energetic, making for a great tour.

Then we got to listen to our very own Steven Abramowitch give a lecture at the university. He gave a really interesting lecture about reproductive health. I thought it was really valuable to share more information about such an underrepresented topic in healthcare. It was also impressive to see Professor Abramowitch in an academic setting, where he is so knowledgeable about his research.

In the afternoon we went to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. It was a beautiful hike out to a peninsula in the sea. It was hard work but worth it. The views were beautiful, and it was such a fun trip. Afterwards we stopped at the beach, where we got gelato and explored the beach.
