Hi everyone! My name is Cami Wasson and I just finished my freshman year at Pitt. I live 25 minutes from the city of Pittsburgh and I love being a short drive from my family and friends. At Pitt, I am a part of YoungLife college and I am also minoring in Spanish in addition to majoring in Nursing. Outside of class, I love going to the gym, hanging out with my friends, and exploring different neighborhoods in Pittsburgh.
Personally, learning Spanish and traveling to Spanish speaking countries is a huge passion of mine outside of nursing and is one of the main reasons I wanted to go on this Plus3 program to Argentina. I’ve always wanted to be fluent in Spanish and traveling is one of the things that has improved my Spanish the most! This trip is so unique in the way it connects both my major and minor in one study abroad trip. I will gain a new perspective into the nursing field during my time in Argentina while simultaneously immersing myself in a culture I am so interested in. Academically, I will be learning more about a different side of nursing. Currently, I do not know too much about the different careers and roles of nursing in the field of business and hospital management, but I am excited to learn more about those aspects. By the end of this trip, I hope I have fostered new professional connections with people abroad and have a deeper culture perspective of Latin America.
