Seoul Good at Archery

Day 4

Today we started our day by hopping on a bus for about an hour. Our first stop was learning archery at the fortress, which was honestly so much fun. I think I did pretty well, I had 10 arrows, and I stuck 4 of them, with 3 actually hitting the target. I also had a funny interaction because I don’t think the poor old lady helping us realized I was left-handed, so she probably just thought I randomly switched hands for fun.

After learning archery, we walked around the border of the fortress. The weather was really pretty, and the views from the top were amazing. It was also really cool being in the same area where soldiers once trained.

From the fortress, we went to the Samsung museum, and there was so much to see. We got to look at older versions of Samsung products, and I even saw the limited-edition phone from The Matrix. The tour really showed how much Samsung and technology have evolved over time. It’s honestly crazy to think we went from giant bulky landline phones and huge TVs to the technology we have now.

I will say though, after the tour I suddenly developed a need for their new washer/dryer unit. It washes and dries your clothes all in one machine, back to back, and honestly I thought that was one of the coolest things there because it would be so convenient. There was also this shoe sterilizer thing that I thought was kind of crazy too.

After the Samsung museum, we were dropped off at a market to do some souvenir shopping, but it started raining. Because of that, we ended up getting dinner in this food court area underneath all the shops. I had bulgogi and salt bread, and the salt bread was soooo good.

Even though it was still raining after dinner, that did not stop us from shopping. I went to Olive Young, and when I tell you it is every skincare and makeup enthusiast’s dream, I mean it. I also went into some smaller clothing stores and ended up getting really cute stuff.

Overall, today was really nice because we had a bit more free time than usual, but by the time I got back to the hotel, I was so exhausted I was literally falling asleep while writing this blog.
