Day 7 Greece: Nafplio

Today was a long travel to Nafplio, all the way across Athens. It took two and a half hours for us to arrive. We took stops on the way there and back, though to pass the time more easily. On the way to Nafplio, we got to visit the Corinth Canal which was absolutely stunning (photo below). On the way back, we visited Epidavros where we saw an ancient greek amphitheater. We were able to hear sound made from the center of the amphitheater all the way at the top which was incredible. Something that will stay with me from today is what our tour guide said to us in departure. We were lucky enough to be accompanied by our tour guide, Dimitri for the past week, and he has helped enhance our experiences at many stops along the way. Today was our last day that he was going to join us and he left us with final remarks that resonate with me. He said that even though we are engineering majors, it is still vital to learn the history and culture of the world around us. I feel as though this is so easy to forget as a heavy STEM major since we do not usually take classes surrounding these topics. Yet history and culture are just as important and there is a story to every mystery in this world. This message deeply resonated with me and I will apply these words to my life after Greece. Cant wait for what tomorrow has in store.
