After leaving the flea market, we rode the funicular, which is still one of my favorite words to say, up to the top of a mountain overlooking the city. The ride itself was really cool, and once we reached the top, the view was absolutely beautiful. While we were up there, we had a group discussion where we reflected on our week in Bilbao so far. It was really interesting hearing everyone’s different perspectives about the experiences we’ve had and the things we’ve learned throughout the trip. Even though we’ve all done the same activities together, everyone has taken away something slightly different from them, which made the conversation really meaningful.
Once we finished our reflection, we headed back down the mountain just as a storm started to roll in. Thankfully, it didn’t last very long before the weather cleared up again. After the rain passed, a group of us went to a burger place for lunch, and it was fantastic. I ordered a double smash burger, and it was honestly one of the best meals I’ve had here so far.
To finish off the night, our entire group went out together to celebrate Eloise’s birthday. It was really nice having everyone together again for another group dinner. We spent the evening laughing, telling stories, and making more memories together. Moments like that have become one of my favorite parts of this trip because they remind me how lucky I am to be sharing these experiences with such a great group of people.
