AI Paragraph:
Life in Rabat blends tradition, modernity, and a relaxed coastal atmosphere. As the capital of Morocco, Rabat feels more calm and organized than many larger Moroccan cities, while still being full of culture and history. Daily life often revolves around busy cafés, local markets, and walks along the Atlantic Ocean. The city is known for its clean streets, beautiful gardens, and historic sites like the Kasbah of the Udayas and Hassan Tower. People in Rabat enjoy spending evenings socializing outdoors, drinking mint tea, and watching the sunset by the marina or beach. The mix of French, Arabic, and Moroccan influences can be seen in the architecture, food, language, and lifestyle, creating a unique atmosphere that feels both international and deeply traditional.

My Writing:
Today I visited the Medina in Rabat and learned a lot about how people live here. The whole Medina is surrounded by a big old fortress wall and it feels like a completely different world once you step inside. I noticed that people don’t buy food for the whole week like I’m used to. Everything is baked fresh every day, and people just buy what they need for that day and come back again tomorrow. I also thought it was really interesting that the door knockers are different depending on who you are, so the family inside already knows who is at the door before they even open it. It made me realize how much of daily life here is built around trust and knowing your neighbors.
In the afternoon I got to meet my host family for the first time and it was an exciting experience. I have a brother here who is around my age and an older sister too. We all ate dinner together around a tagine and used our hands to eat from the same dish which was different from what i’m used to. Some cousins were also invited and showed up for dinner too which just shows how welcoming and open the people here are. Something that stood out was seeing young kids just roaming around the streets by themselves without a care in the world. There were also stray cats everywhere, just hanging around on every corner. The road near the house is packed with little shops selling all kinds of things and it makes the neighborhood feel very lively. It was a really full day and I feel like I am only starting to understand the way of life here and I look forward to learning more.
