We have finally arrived at Buenos Aires the airport was super busy. On the way to the hotel I saw many horse ranches with all different colors of horses and large acres of land for them to run on! Something familiar but also different was the tennis courts. Instead of concrete they were beautiful clay courts that kids were enjoying. Once we arrived at the hotel and got settled in we all went to our sponsor’s IES main building. While their I got sky views of how pretty the city was. I enjoyed the architecture around and how detailed each building was. During this event we tried various slices of meat that were so delicious especially drizzled with chimichurri.
After a long day of traveling, a yummy meal we were exhausted! So we decided to take an intermission before a long walk with Grant. On our walk with Grant, we saw so many interesting stores. Compared to U.S the stores they were so different and filled with so much candy and sweet treats. We also got to see the Pink house which you can kind of think of as the U.S version of the white house, used for governmental policies. We all decided to continue walking and everyone got really hungry. I have been interested in this Pizza place called Guerrin where we were guided into this secret tunnel to the other side of the restaurant. We got this onion covered pizza that was SO good and a tomato pie where the tomatos were so sweet and fresh. Through different areas in the restaurant you could see each ingredient of the pizza made, the fresh sauce, Italian imported cheese and homemade dough were all made in this treasure. Overall it was such a great day learning how to communicate with Argentinians and their culture.
I would also like to thank my mom for supporting me and giving me the courage to go on this trip! Unfortunately I missed mothers day with the best mom ever but her love and her confidence in me, encouraged me to puruse my traveling goals and be apart of an unforgettable experience.
-Love ya mom!
