Today was our 8th day in Bilbao! After our breakfast, Professor Saoia took us to a nice cafe for some chiros dipped in melted chocolate. It was delicious. Then we headed over to the center of the city to walk around a couple of homemade pop up stores. There was this one stand with really unique and cool pottery designs. Then we walked to the old quarter for a flee and flower market. Some of us got some cool rings from the flee market. There were so many beatiful flowers. 

After the market, we took the metro to the Artxanda Funicular. We went up the steep ride to see some gorgeous views of the city and the famous red Bilbao sign. While we were up there, we had a group discussion about how the trip is going so far. We talked about what was surprising to us, how the Spanish healthcare system is different to the United States, and what we weren’t expecting. I talked about how I was surprised that the public hospitals we went to still had very advaced technology despit being funded by the government and how the way the nurses shift scheducal is made to help with their work life balance. We then all went out to dinner to close out our relaxing Sunday. I’m so sad that we only have 4 days left.
