We started off the day with getting churros and hot chocolate from a shop. I really liked these because the churros were a lot different than the ones I have had in the US. All the churros I have usually had are coated in a cinnamon sugar topping but these ones weren’t. I liked these ones because they weren’t too sweet. After eating our churros we headed over to a couple of pop-up stands. They had lots of different handmade things. They had jewelry, ceramics, and clothing. I liked being able to see peoples different creations. After this we decided to go over to the bigger flea market so we took the metro over. Once we got to the Old town we walked around the flea market. There were a lot of different things such as jewelry, books, CDs, and lots and lots of flowers. Me and a lot of other girls decided to get rings with each other as a little reminder of our trip. I think this was really special because we all got the opportunity to get something different that we liked but was still special to us and would remind us of our trip. There were also lots and lots of different types of flowers at the flea market. It was really neat to see locals come and get flowers for their house.

After we finished the flea market we headed up to the funicular. On our way there we got to see some traditional Basque dances being performed which was really cool. We headed up to the top of the mountain with the funicular. The site was really amazing, we got to see the entire city. It looked a lot bigger than I had realized. We then had a group discussion reflecting our week. It was cool to me how we all did the same activities but everyone had different things to take away from them. Once we were done with our reflection we headed back down the mountain as a storm rolled in. However, we were all very hungry so we decided to stop at a burger place right next to our hotel. I got a chicken sandwich which was very good. A little bit later we celebrated Eloise’s birthday all together at a dinner place. It was nice to have everyone eating together.
