Dos Pinos and Kyndryl both leave a long-term impact on Costa Rica. Kyndryl creates a lasting value by providing jobs and maintaining a strong work-life balance through flexibility on scheduling. On the other hand, Dos Pinos creates a lasting value by its supply of milk and dairy which is very essential for Costa Rica. If I had to pick one, I would say that Kyndryl has a more lasting value because it is growing at a rapid rate which will lead to more economic growth in Costa Rica. As it continues to grow, the company not only boosts Costa Rica’s economy but also helps build a workforce that can compete globally.
Our specific topic is focused on multinational companies which is not particularly emphasized in Dos Pinos but is a major factor for Kyndryl. I spoke to the Compliance Manager at Kyndryl and asked him about the pros and cons of being multinational and he told me that he only really sees being a multinational company as a positive. He told me that he has had online meetings with people from Peru, Brazil, Poland, Hungary, India, and China and one key aspect that he has taken away from these meetings is that being Multinational allows you to take bits and pieces of how other cultures solve problems which you can apply to your own work.
The only real obstacle that he faces is the communication because everyone on these meetings is speaking English as a second language and has heavy accents. This can make it difficult for him to pitch his ideas, but with a little bit of patience it is not a major concern.
