Today we got to visit the container terminal in the Piraeus Port. We saw how they load and unload ships and just how large the port really is. It can hold 2.6 million teels, or units of shipment containers. This number is a lot larger than I was expecting. Seeing how large the operation is was very impressive, with over 3000 employees. There was so much going on there, something was happening everywhere you looked, and I never realized that is what a port is actually like. It definitely opened a new perspective in the maritime industry for me.
