Day 11 started off with us getting picked up by a bus and heading right for a company visit. We went to the headquarters of Tekniker, an engineering company. We got a presentation from one of the people within the company who works in the health sector of this company. They are a private organization, and they have over 100 collaborations and projects with hospitals universities and medical companies. They made many advances in areas of: medical devices, vitro diagnostics, medical robotics. We then got a tour of parts of the facility which was really cool to see how this company ran. We got to see different labs with many different specialty’s, the main work area, and the different amenities workers can get like the gym.
Then we got back to the bus where we headed over to the Oma forest for a hike. We headed up to the main part of it, where then we stopped for lunch and then traveled around the forest looking at all the different paintings on the trees and all the different designs. Then we walked back down which luckily wasn’t as muddy as the way up!
Then we headed to Guernica. It was such a cool town with so much history. We learned details of the bombing that occurred and how the town was affected by that. We saw some of the details of this history through the town, like a few of the houses that weren’t destroyed by the bombings. We also saw the famous Guernica painting which was very interesting and had so many specific details. Then we also saw inside the bomb shelter which I thought was so interesting to see.
After this long day we were all so tired, we grabbed a quick dinner and then headed right to our rooms to rest up for tomorrow. So sad were leaving Friday but I’m excited to see how our last day will be!!
