While walking through the warehouse of AlphaOmega, I observed multiple boxes stacked high on shelves, as well as several forklifts moving throughout the area. One thing that specifically stood out to me was, surprisingly, a robotic machine that wrapped pallets of packages quickly and efficiently. I found this especially interesting because it feels like a part of the process that is often overlooked.
I also found it interesting how they have temperature-controlled rooms to ensure the medical and pharmacy packages stay properly stored and under the correct temperature conditions. They also had a machine that was able to locate smaller packages and collect them with little to no human assistance, which is something I have not seen often.
Overall, the visit to AlphaOmega was extremely interesting and gave me a good look into how a factory operates. It is something so common, yet people often do not realize the behind-the-scenes work and effort that goes into it.
