We started out early with a site visit to GlassEgg. This tour really intrigued me because I tend to play games. They went through a list of the game companies they’ve worked with, and I could recognize some of them. It was especially cool when they showed some designs they had created—I actually own that “skin” in the real game.
After the presentation, we went on a tour and got to see the workers at GlassEgg creating their designs in person. What I found really fascinating was seeing a design being made live, knowing that later, if I play one of those games, I could actually use or see the design in the game. Sadly, we weren’t allowed to take any pictures, but I did get a nice view from the top of the building.

I think what makes GlassEgg so successful is their past accomplishments. They have created many major designs for other companies, which makes them very reliable. Their office is also set up to encourage collaboration, rather than isolating workers in separate cubicles.
One partnership I found fascinating was with Rocket League. I was particularly interested because I play this game quite a lot. It’s a huge game and seeing the workers design different cars was really cool.
A challenge the company could face in the near future is new competitors entering the market, especially those using advanced AI that could potentially outshine GlassEgg. Other than that, I think they will remain dominant for quite a while.

There have been a few incidents, but the heat definitely causes a few:

We finished off the day with some boxing, which really takes a lot out of you. Constant cardio in a hot environment almost makes you pass out. It was a lot of fun learning to box, and I even got into the ring a little.

Probably the coolest part of boxing was talking to the UEF boxing teacher about his career. He shared a lot of experiences with MMA and told us that he is friends with and trains alongside Joshua Van, who is currently the Flyweight Division Champion of the UFC.
Overall, this week has been full of culture shock but also a lot of fun. We’re taking a trip to the Mekong Delta this weekend, and I’m very excited.
