Today was another really enjoyable day as we took a bus to visit Blenheim Palace and the city of Oxford. It ended up being a great mix of history, architecture, and just walking around and taking everything in. Our tour guide, Tim, also made a big difference. He was very energetic and clearly knew a lot about the places we were visiting, which made the experience more interesting and helped keep everyone engaged.
When we first got to Blenheim Palace, the architecture immediately stood out. The building is massive, and everything about it feels very detailed and well thought out. It is one of those places where you kind of just stop and take it in for a moment. We were able to go inside and walk through all of the rooms on the ground floor, and each one felt unique in its own way. There was a lot to look at, from the decorations to the layout, and it really showed how much history the palace holds.

One of the cooler parts of the visit was seeing the room where Winston Churchill was born. It added a bit more meaning to being there, knowing that such an important historical figure was connected to the place. That said, my favorite part of Blenheim Palace was definitely the gardens. They were really peaceful and a nice contrast to the size and grandeur of the building. The secret garden especially stood out because it felt more quiet and tucked away, which made it a great place to just walk around and relax a bit. Even though the weather was mostly overcast, it actually kind of fit the atmosphere and didn’t take away from the experience at all.

After we left the palace, we headed to Oxford. Right away, the city felt very historic and almost exactly how you would picture it. The buildings all looked very old and well-preserved, which made it feel really picturesque. While we were there, we got to go inside the Great Hall at New College, which was definitely a highlight. It was interesting to see what one of the university buildings looks like on the inside. We also walked past a lot of other colleges, and they all had a similar style that made the whole city feel connected and historic.
We had about 45 minutes of free time in Oxford, which I mostly spent walking around, doing a bit of shopping, and just taking in the surroundings. I also grabbed a sausage roll from Greggs, which was a quick and easy snack while exploring. Even though the free time was short, it was nice to have the chance to experience the city at our own pace.

Overall, this was a really good day. It felt a bit more structured than yesterday at the museum, but still gave us some freedom to explore. My favorite part was definitely the gardens at Blenheim Palace, especially the secret garden, because it was such a calm and relaxing space.
This was another memorable day on the trip, and it was really interesting to visit places that have so much history behind them.
