Today we were able to have the chance to go to Sibo’s Chocolate in the morning. This was such an awesome experience, where I was able to see someone so passionate about what he was working on. Sibo’s Chocolate not only values the money it receives from their profit but values more its morals and their ethics. One business decision that Sibo’s Chocolate made was valuing the end goal of defeating child slavery and being ran morally ethical , rather than just making money. Julio was a historian before owning a chocolate shop, and he learned about child slavery in chocolate production, which motivated him to create a chocolate shop that was ethical and very healthy.
Sibo’s Chocolate’s business decision is evidence of when the triple bottom line works. It positively affects the people. The way Julio runs his business is beneficial to the employees because it creates a positive working environment with safe working conditions. This also supports the community by locally producing its resources. This also benefits the planet because Julio’s main goal is to abolish child slavery. With his company operating to reach this goal, this will only spread awareness about this problem and help end this terrible problem. Sibo’s Chocolate business is still able to gain its profit with this business decision, since they want the business to run morally ethical. This allows no process ingredients, and the chocolate that is produced tastes pure but is also extremely healthy for the body.
