One of the biggest takeaways from the AI discussion was how important adaptability will be in the future. AI is developing so quickly that it is impossible to ignore the impact it will have on society through education and the workforce. A lot of the conversation around AI focuses on negatives such as job loss and I these concerns are valid. Certain jobs will likely disappear or change because machines can complete tasks faster and more efficiently than people. At the same time I do not think AI is automatically a negative thing for humanity. Similar to other technological advancements AIs impact depends on how people choose to use it and how society adapts to it. AI has the potential to improve productivity, increase access to necessary information, and help solve problems more efficiently (specifically with medical breakthroughs). It can save time on repetitive tasks and allow people to focus more on critical thinking and innovation. The challenge will be creating a balance where AI improves human life without replacing the value of human contribution entirely.

I have already started utilizing AI in my personal life for school and studying. One tool I have found helpful is Claude AI because it is more interactive when working with other materials. I can use it to create interactive practice tests and quizzes, or review activities using information directly from course materials that I can upload. That makes studying feel more engaging and personalized rather than just rereading notes. I think AI works best when it supports learning rather than replacing the effort required to actually understand content.

The discussion about creativity and AI stood out to me the most and I think AI will negatively impact the creative process. Creativity and art are extremely subjective, and I disagree with the argument that people who are not traditionally artistic should use AI to create art. Traditional skill is not what defines creativity. What matters is the thought, emotion, and meaning behind creating art. Most art that’s imperfect is more meaningful because it reflects the creator’s perspective and effort. If AI becomes a substitute for the creative process itself, then a large part of what makes art human will be lost.
