The train ride was very smooth and efficient. Similar to the public transportation back home, the outside of the station was dirty and depressing. However, the inside of the German train was very nice. It was state-of-the-art and seemed more well-kept. The atmosphere of Munich was awesome. Munich felt very modern at the same time. Nothing as I’ve personally seen or experienced before. The outdoor store, followed by fresh markets around every corner, was amazing. It was interesting to learn that there are 1200 different types of sausages and 200 types of bread available in German culture. I definitely believed it after walking around all day. The sheer number of ornate shops was more than I could count. I ended up getting a couple of hats, a t-shirt, and fresh truffle cheese to bring home. The meat market was very interesting to see. The glass window to be able to see the butcher at work was very intriguing. Augsburg also had a home soccer game that day, which even added to the abundance of people truly there. The town square was also very unique to see. It was also very cool to hear and learn about the formation of the old and new town hall. The new town hall is actually technically older. Very confusing, but a fact. The Bavarian culture we learned about is just an overall communal atmosphere and structure where all get together and celebrates a cause. The language and culture were all mixed, but one thing that definitely helped me, I guess, stereotype people as Germans was if they were wearing the Munich soccer jersey and scarf. The overall culture felt more real and not a tourist-trap-like experience. Everyone felt respected, and their desire to sponge up culture in a way you can’t at places like Disney. I was also to able to climb the one church bell tower and get an amazing view of all of the city. On a clear day, you can even see the Alps!
