We started off our morning by taking the bus to our group project site visit! First we visited ANDD, or L’Association Nationale du Développement Digital, a organization committed to strengthening the digital and entrepreneurial skills of women and young people. I could see the impact that ANDD had made immediately as I entered the building, because I can tell how passionate they are about helping not only these young entrepreneurs, but developing Morocco as a country through the younger generations. I liked how ANDD focuses on social media and technology as well as the basic skills of entrepreneurship, because they realize that social media is the business model and buying and selling platform of the future. We heard from one of the female speakers about how she was shy at the beginning of the program, and could barely say hello or her name to the class. It was so interesting to see how lively and passionate she was during her presentation, and how well spoken she is in the English language. She truly inspired me to take on more challenging tasks, and to exit my comfort zone to be more outgoing.

We said our goodbyes at ANDD and headed to lunch! This had yto have been on of the most beautiful restaurants we had eaten at so far. My favorite part of the meal was when they brought out cookies and atay, and poured it so far over their heads! We then left lunch and headed to meet another group of women entrepreneurs. These women were artisans, specifically in the realm of beauty and cosmetics, who used ANDD’s program to learn the ropes of social media and expand their influence through a larger presence on all platforms. I was pleasantly surprised at the groups skills in videoagraphy and editing, which surpasses my little experience or skill in any form of social media. I loved hearing about their products, passion, and how thankful they seemed to ANDD for learning the skills required to make their business’ a success. It was beautiful to see the support system they had seemed to create for each other, and I could tell that they’re constantly building off of one another, whether its technological skills or help with language barriers. My favorite product was definitely the embroidery, and my favorite social media account was “callmebeauty104”.
But by far, the highlight of my day was Meade stuck in the ANDD bathroom for 20 minutes. She is truly inspiring and such a good sport, as I would have had a panic attack within the first 5 minutes.
Only two more days 🙁 TTYL!
