Today was our final day in Bilbao! We started the day off as per usual nice and early with breakfast! Then we made our way to the School of Engineering for the last time. We started off by seeing the robotic arm project which was very neat to see. They 3D print each portion individually like the arm and separate fingers and then attach them together for the full product. After this we went to the guitar lab. Here we saw how they make fully working guitars. They use laser cutters to make the body of the guitar and then add the strings and other parts so it can work. Overall, this was very cool to see and understand how these are able to be made by just students.
Following this we had our end of trip meeting. We got to discuss and share our opinion about the overall trip and different activities. Once everyone shared, we played a Kahoot to see how much we learned from the trip. Then, Saioa gave us all a gift, which was a really cute picture of all of us together! After we moved to lunch, where I had rice and pork cheeks!
We then took the metro to Getxo where we walked to the hanging bridge. This bridge had a walking path on top but could also carry cars and other passengers across the river. Luckily the rain stopped so we were able to take the elevator up to the top and walk from one side to the other. After this we went to a cafe for some coffee and pastries and to hang out while we waited for dinner.
We arrived at dinner and we had one final meal all together. We laughed and talked the entire time and the food was amazing! I had a burger and a brownie! Finally, we said goodbye to professor Saioa an Mikel (It was so sad but much thank you to both). We all hopped on the bus together for the last time and of course had to sing some karaoke. We sang songs the entire ride back and I really realized how much I was going to miss everyone!
Overall, I had a wonderful last day! I also had the best study abroad trip/experience ever! I learned much more then I ever thought I would! I had a great time interacting with all the companies and hospitals, really enjoyed the Bilbao culture & food, and am very thankful for our professors. I enjoyed every moment of this trip and I wouldn’t have wanted to do it with any other group of people! I am so grateful for the opportunity and so lucky to have built such a community!
(Also, Nora and Dr. A thank you so much for planning such an incredible trip! This wouldn’t have been possible without you! And Dr. A thanks for the wonderful pics! Thank you both again!)
