The Last Day!

The last day! On the final day we had our final presentations and it was truly such a great way to wrap up this whole trip altogether! It was honestly very cool to see everyone’s projects compared from our original presentation. This study abroad experience has been one of the best experiences I could ever ask for. I did learn so much about healthcare from a different perspective than what I am used to! I truly did not understand healthcare management in America let alone another country before this trip, but now this is something I am really interested in. This trip has taught me so much more beyond the classroom and hospital visits. One of the biggest things this trip taught me was that healthcare is so much more than hospitals and patient care. Before coming here, I never really thought about how funding, politics, location, accessibility, and culture all affect healthcare systems. Visiting places like San Isidro, La Matanza, private hospitals, community clinics, and even the healthcare boats in Tigre helped me see how different access to care can be even within the same country. It made me realize how important adaptability and understanding different perspectives are, especially as someone going into nursing. Beyond healthcare, this trip also taught me the importance of stepping outside of my comfort zone. Two weeks ago I did not know most of these people, and now I feel like I am leaving with friendships and memories that I will carry for a very long time. Getting to experience a new country, culture, and healthcare system firsthand was something I never expected would impact me. Argentina gave me memories and experiences that I know I will carry with me long after this trip.
