Adiós Argentina! May 21st

on

This past two weeks has flown by. I have many take aways from this amazing trip. We took in a lot of information regarding Argentina’s healthcare system. Firstly, I was shocked that at Thomas Reggio they had a fully paper medical record system. Each hospital varied drastically, and I was not expecting that either. The visit to La Matanza was very shocking, it was dimly lit, walls crumbling, no enforcement of privacy for the patients, and there were cats roaming the hospital. We also took in a lot of information regarding the economics in Argentina. The healthcare system is fragmented and segmented. Depending on where you live, your income, and your ability to afford healthcare, different people can have polar opposite experiences when receiving healthcare in Argentina.

Lastly, I just wanted to thank everyone on this trip. This was an amazing group of intelligent individuals and I would not have had the same experience if it wasn’t for them. This has been an amazing two weeks, and I can’t wait to study abroad sometime in the future.
