Day 8: Trip to Munich

I woke up this morning feeling the best I did the whole trip. Following our chill day, I was able to destress and get a good night’s rest. This allowed me to feel refreshed and locked in for one of the most important days of the trips.

We were going to Munich. This is another day that was highly anticipated for me, as I was eager to explore this city. My relatives that live in Germany constantly talk about Munich, so I was ready to go.

We started the day off arriving by train, and walking to the main square. This is where we saw the new town hall. The first thing I noticed was its gothic like architecture, it was beautiful. Something that surprised me though was that this building was actually pretty new in terms of Munich’s history. We waited for the glockenspiel and then dispersed into groups for a few hours to explore by ourselves. I walked around for bit and then split off on my own. I got a cup of coffee and just walked around listening to music, it was a very enjoyable experience. I eventually went up into this tall church building that overlooked the entire city, the view was crazy and really made me appreciate it more, I could actually see the BMW building from there.

After out free time we did a guided tour. This was honestly my favorite tour so far, I was really invested for the entire time and there was a bunch of little things that she explained in depth which really shocked me. One in specific was the small golden trail in the alley way, the history behind it had me speechless.

After the tour we ended the day with a group dinner, I got a burger and it hit the spot. Overall, this day did not disappoint, which I feel like I have been saying every blog – but I guess that is a good thing. The city was gorgeous, and I was happy that we got a decent amount of good weather. On the bus ride home, I passed out. This was the only day I reached 30000 steps.
