After getting a really good night of sleep, we started what was our second to last company visit of the trip. After a bus ride, we arrived at Aumovio, a company that builds circuit boards and software for vehicles. We started the visit with a presentation where we learned about what the company does and the role its technology plays in modern vehicles. One of the coolest parts was getting to hold and pass around some of the circuit boards they produce. It was interesting to see just how much technology goes into something that most people never even think about. After the presentation, it was clear that this tour was going to be different from the others. Aumovio was very strict about keeping the factory clean, so all electronic devices had to be put away, and we had to wear lab coats along with blue covers over our shoes. These things help prevent dust from getting into the facility and protect the sensitive machines and products. Before entering the factory, we had to go through a quick inspection to make sure everything was set up correctly with our clothing. Of course, I was the only person who got a red dot during the check and had to fix my shoe before moving on. Compared to the other factories we have visited, this one felt much smaller and less industrial since they are producing tiny circuit boards instead of entire vehicles. The machines were still incredible to watch. They moved so quickly that it was almost impossible to keep track of everything happening. After the tour, we headed to Rosenberg, where we learned more about the city’s history and even got to see some old torture chambers. I’ve really grown to appreciate the scenery and atmosphere here in Germany. The colorful buildings and unique architecture make every place feel memorable. After some free time to walk around and explore, we wrapped up the day with another bus ride. It’s hard to believe how fast this trip has gone by, and even harder to believe that we only have three more days left in Germany.
