I would be lying if I said I was excited for today. Not only because it involves a 30 minute presentation, but it also marks the end of our trip which I am definitely not ready for. We had a later start this morning, so Brooke and I headed down for breakfast around 9:30. My group and I decided to meet a few hours early so we could run through our presentation and make sure everything was finalized, so I headed over to the university around 11:45.
Before presentations, my group and I went to the mensa for lunch and it was way less crowded than last week, so we had time to see all our options. It turned out we were presenting first, which personally I was very happy about. It was time for our industry analysis on Audi and after our presentation and answers to the questions on the spot, I felt like we were very well prepared and did a great job. I presented the second half of the PESTLE Analysis: technology, legal, and environmental. Two weeks ago, if you were to ask me to prepare this for the automotive industry, I would have been able to give you absolutely nothing. Now, I feel quite knowledgeable on the automotive industry, especially in regards to the technological growth that is happening rapidly. I truly did enjoy the research for my part because it opened my eyes to the efficiency that Europe has within this industry and how it compares to the rest of the world.

When listening to the other presentations, it was really cool to be able to make connections between what we learned in the company visits and what my fellow students had to share. I think everyone in this program is coming out with a much deeper understanding of the industry. Also, I must note that I am so impressed with the German students and how they were able to present in their second language and communicate with us for two weeks, that is a very difficult thing to do and they all did incredible.
In the evening, we had our farewell dinner with everyone at the Ratskeller Augsburg. This was a full-circle moment because it feels like just yesterday we were sitting at a table with the German students introducing ourselves and getting to know each other. I got the creamy turkey and it was honestly delicious. I think looking back at some of the photos I have taken of authentic dishes along this trip, I will always laugh a little because of the unappetizing presentation. However, I have definitely grown very fond of German food and I’m going to miss some of it in the states. After dinner, we all went to get gelato for one last time… I think I have basically gotten it everyday since being here so it only made sense to finish off our farewell dinner with it. That’s a wrap for the Augsburg adventures, tomorrow marks our last day of the trip and we are heading to a new country for our free day. We are going to Salzburg, Austria and I could not be more excited!
