Hi! My name is Julia Podvin and I am a student at the College of Business Administration here at the University of Pittsburgh. I am majoring in Finance and Supply Chain Management. I am from Hampton Township, a suburb of Pittsburgh, but I have not always lived in the Steel City. I spent the first 14 years of my life living outside of Harrisburg, so I am not sick of Pittsburgh yet. I suffer from a severe Netflix addiction, but I think I can survive two weeks in Germany without it. I also am the funniest person I know (see title). Lastly, I love animals, so do not be surprised if I stop and pet every dog I see.
I was initially drawn into the Plus3 program because it is the first chance to study abroad and it relates to my major, Supply Chain Management. I have only been to resorts outside of the country and the farthest from home I have been is Alaska, so I wanted to expand my horizons to somewhere new. I chose Germany because I have always wanted to go to Europe and I have heard amazing things about the trip from friends. I am excited to learn about and see the automobile supply chain (again see pun in title). Look out Germany because I’ll be there in a few short weeks!
