Nachste Halt: Neuschwanstein

All our company site visits were over, so now all we had left were final presentations and cultural visits. The main event for Tuesday was going to the Neuschwanstein castle. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Bavaria as we found out first hand because of all the people that were there. It was a Tuesday in May but there were still so many tourists. The hike up to the castle was tough, but it was completely worth it. Unfortunately, the front side of the castle was being worked on which ruined some pictures. Before going on the tour, I bought a jigsaw puzzle of a picture of the Neuschwanstein castle that my family will be working on for quite some time. The inside was just as beautiful as the outside. Unfortunately, we weren’t allowed to take pictures of the inside, but I can promise you it was astonishing. After the tour, we had to sprint up to a bridge to see the best view of the castle. The sprint was worth it because that view was unforgettable. We then hiked back down to our bus where we took a quick ride to a small town near the castle.

In this town, we got lunch with everyone and then had free time to ourselves. In the free time, I got a piece of cheesecake which was really rich and I couldn’t finish it. This town was very cute and was exactly what I was pictured a small European town to look like. We then went to another small town with a very cool church. The inside might have been the most beautiful church we saw on the trip. After the brief stop at the church, we got back in the bus and made our way back to Augsburg where everyone prepared for their upcoming presentations. I was amazed by the condition of the castle we saw considering it is a few hundred years old. The Neuschwanstein castle certainly made day 10 one to never forget.
