See you soon Vietnam!

conference photoHi!

My name is Gabrielle Rubin and I’m a freshman in the Swanson School of Engineering. I plan to major in electrical engineering. I’m from Newtown Square, PA.  Here at Pitt, I’m involved in the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), Scientists, Mathematicians, and Engineers for Service (SEMFS), and Theta Tau, Pitt’s chapter of the professional engineering fraternity.

I grew up traveling with my family as often as possible, but I’ve never been anywhere as far as Vietnam so I’m extremely excited for this experience! I chose Plus3 because I am interested in both engineering and business and I’m excited to see how closely interconnected the two are. I chose Vietnam specifically because I’m eager to learn how I can apply my knowledge in the future to make an impact, just as the engineers in Vietnam are doing as they develop the country so quickly. In addition to everything I’m going to learn, I look forward to immersing myself in Vietnamese culture and taking advantage of this incredible opportunity!
