Off to Italy!

Hi everyone! My name is Molly Hughes and I just completed my freshman year in the Swanson School of Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh. I am working towards a mechanical engineering degree, hopefully with a materials science and engineering minor and a nuclear certificate. I’m from right outside Philly in Lower Merion PA (for those who are wondering – yes, Kobe Bryant did go to my high school). At Pitt, I am involved in the Society of Women Engineers and Pitt’s club ultimate frisbee team, High Voltage. In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring cities, reading, and painting.

I am super excited to go to Italy on the Plus3 program! Italy’s culture has always fascinated me and I can’t wait to be able to experience it in a few short days. I am also very excited to learn more about not only supply chain management, but also how businesses can differ across cultures. Both of these subjects are pretty new to me as an engineering student, so being able to learn more in a beautiful country is an amazing opportunity. Obviously, I am very excited to try the food! And I look forward to the days where we have some time to explore the cities and visit cool sites. I can’t wait for this trip!
