Visiting the cliffs of Moher was honestly a life changing experience. The Cliffs were simultaneously both awe inspiring and humbling. Personally, I felt we needed more time to truly experience the magnitude of the landscape, but even a week there would probably not have been enough time. Aside from the breath taking views the, the cliffs were very intimidating. The scale made me feel small and insignificant in the grand scheme of things and reminded me that mother nature can be intense. The views left an impression on me that I will never forget and I hope to take more of my family there at some point soon.
Professionally, this location presents a fantastic business opportunity. The Cliffs of Moher is visited by millions of tourists every year. These tourists support local shops and businesses and bring external revenue into Ireland. I now entirely understand why Ireland was so passionate about the land remaining in Irish hands and not falling into “the hands of aliens” in the form of German business people. The Cliffs also bring notoriety to Ireland. They are extremely recognizable and are a brilliant asset to Ireland’s “cultural exports.” Tourism is a great revenue builder for Ireland who has more visitors per year than the entire population of their country. The Cliffs provide a fantastic natural landmark to draw these tourists out of Dublin (the most popular tourist location) and into the country to support the local economies of different location. In conclusion, professionally I feel as though the cliffs represent a fantastic asset to Ireland and the Irish economy.
