Venice was absolutely beautiful today! We ate an amazing breakfast at the hotel in Verona (it was our first morning there) and then made our way to the train station to catch a train to Venice. I had never been on a train before and I was excited to experience it for the first time! It wasn’t very different from a subway except you have comfortable seats and a little table in front of you. The train goes about 200 mph which I thought was very fast but it didn’t feel that fast!
Right when we arrived to Venice, we caught a water taxi which was also very different! When they say that they don’t have cars in Venice, they aren’t lying. I didn’t see any cars at all and only boats on the canals! It was actually very interesting and cool! All the houses had little doors on the canals for boats to pull up to (sort of like a garage for a car.)
We also went on a gondola and it was very very cool! It’s such a typical Italian experience and I’m so happy we got to expiring it! The water was super choppy so I was nervous we were going to tip but we didn’t. After that we ate lunch at a cute little restaurant along the canal. I had pesto trofie pasta and it was excellent! After that we took a ton of pictures and then did a walking tour of Venice!
After the walking tour, we ate pizza and had a spritz at a little restaurant. Then, Lex and I got our feet eaten by fish from turkey! You dip your feet in a little pool of these tiny fish and they eat the dead skin off of your feet! I’m so glad I did that because now my feet are baby smooth. Today was such a great day!
