Today was a very rainy day in Verona. We had the morning off to do what we wanted, so we decided to go into town and shop for a bit. But before that, we enjoyed a big breakfast in the hotel (probably the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had!).
The shopping in Verona was basically a long street with marble sidewalks that had high end clothes, shoes, and accessories, as well as more affordable brands. I️t was so fun to walk around with friends and go into the different stores, and I️ ended up buying a bathing suit from a store called Pimkie.
After our free morning, we met in the lobby to be bussed to a company called Mero & More. While we were there, we got a presentation from the owner of the company, as well as the manager of the fashion consortium. Basically, the fashion consortium is a firm that helps other companies with their supply chains, and Mero & More is one of their clients. They emphasized quality over quantity, and especially individuality and uniqueness as opposed to uniform products. Following the presentation, we had a tour of the company. During the tour we learned about different processes involved with the making of the clothes, such as the design, the cutting of the fabric, assembly, and taking photos for advertisements.
Tomorrow, we have a packed day of company visits in Verona before heading back to Milan in the evening. I️ can’t believe our stay in Italy is coming to an end in just a few days!
