Lá déag: Day Eleven – Baby don’t Herd me

Today was one of my favorite days during my study abroad trip. We took a visit to Kilkenny city. I got to explore Kilkenny Castle which was stunning! It was built in 1195 by Vikings. I visited St. Caince’s Cathedral and took a tour of the artifacts inside. I then climbed St. Caince’s tower and got a beautiful view of the city of Kilkenny. I also got to stop at my favorite ice cream place in all of Ireland, Murphy’s! After our trip to Kilkenny city, we took a small road trip through the mountains and got to explore amazing views. I really appreciate the beauty the whole country Ireland has to offer. We even stopped for a bit to check out where Brave Heart was filmed. Our next official visit was to Kilkenny lake. This lake was magnificent and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day to visit. I walked up the trail which was an incredibly steep hike and took about half an hour but it was worth it to see a beautiful waterfall! The last part of our full day excursion was my favorite… we got to visit a sheep ranch! I watched as a trained border collie wrangled a herd of sheep.  I loved watching and learning about his business. It’s crazy to think about the amount of wool he produces and sells. At the end of the day, we got to see adorable baby lamb which was the perfect ending to a perfect day.
