Shoes Glorious Shoes

Today was our second last day in Milan. We started the day with a guided fashion tour of Milan. The main focus of the tour was at the store Excelsior. This store included many floors of high end men’s clothing, women’s clothing, shoes, accessories, jewelry, perfume, and more. It was such a cool building both on the outside as well as the inside, and even included its own restaurant and market downstairs. We traveled to each floor and had a look around, and my favorite was definitely the shoe floor. There was a huge display of Louboutin’s that particularly caught my attention (even though they were WAY out of my price range).

After a nice group lunch at a fancy hotel, we walked around for a little while before taking the metro back to the hotel for the Bottega Velasca Business Lecture. This company hand-makes leather shoes for men between the ages of 25-45ish. The presenter emphasized their vision of being an affordable, luxury brand, and we got to see a few different commercials portraying this business model.

We have the rest of the afternoon and evening free, so some friends and I will probably go back to Corso Como for dinner and some shopping around. Tomorrow is our last day in Italy, and we will be doing a workshop at the Milan Fashion Library.
