Lá déag: Day Thirteen – A Presentation To Remember

Our last couple days were spent in Dublin creating presentations for Dean Audrey about our study abroad trip to Dublin. My presentation was about Croke Park and how it ties to Irish culture and business. I believe that future Plus3 Transfer programs should continue to have Croke Park as a site visit because it is the absolute perfect cultural and business experience mixed into one. When I am presenting, I personally feel that what I do best is make eye contact and speak clearly. I always engage with the audience and make sure the audience understand what I am communicating. The hardest part of presenting to me is knowing what to say. I struggle with finding words to explain or tripping over my sentences. It is actually funny because I talk all the time but when you put me in front of a crowd to present a PowerPoint I feel like my mind can just go blank. If I were to become better at one presentation skill it would be able to give a presentation that flows together perfectly. Almost like whenever a professor is giving a lecture it just seems natural and that they didn’t have to practice because they are so confident in what they know/ what they want to say. Something valuable I was able to take out of my Plus3 presentation is that I present better when I am more engaged in the topic. I had no trouble talking about Croke Park because I loved site visit and have always had a passion for sports. Another take away I had from the presentation was presenting with my friends. This made me confident knowing I had their support while I was presenting my slide. The presentations were an excellent end to my business experience as apart of the Plus3 Transfer program.
