Traveling Across the Globe

Our first day on our trip to Korea was full of travel. We started the day on Saturday meeting at Panther Central at 3:50 A.M. before boarding a bus to head to the Pittsburgh Airport. We checked our bags and went through security in no time as we headed for our gate. Before the plane took off, I was able to scarf down a bacon, egg and cheese on a plain bagel and it was delicious.

Our first flight of the day was to Dallas, and I fell asleep as soon as the plane took off and did not wake up until we landed in Dallas. The plane ride felt so quick for me, and I was refreshed and ready for the long flight that was awaiting us.

Planes outside the Dallas Airport

I had never been to Texas before, and although it was just the airport, I am counting this as another state I have been to. The airport was pretty nice in Dallas, and I went to Subway to get an Italian sub to have for lunch. After around two hours in Dallas, our flight to Korea boarded and we took off.

For the first couple hours of the flight I was able to sleep, however, I was woken up and had to find stuff to do for the next twelve hours. We were provided with three meals on the plane, each time with a Korean food option, and a more traditional American food option. I decided to have the Korean option to get in the mindset for my trip. I watched a couple of movies, including The Imitation Game which I thought was very good.

Finally, after fourteen hours in this flight, and seventeen hours of flying in total, we arrived at the Incheon International Airport. Looking outside and realizing we were half way across the world had not fully sunk in. I was so excited for what will be in store for the next two weeks in Korea.
