Innovation has never been one of my greatest strengths. As I continue on with my career, I hope to become a great innovator, but more of someone who can see what the future holds. We talked about it briefly yesterday on how how Eaton is always changing. They embrace those changes to stay ahead of the time. This is so crucial in any business because if you are not able to keep up with the changes your business can go away very fast. Industries will take over companies in just only a few years if they are not aware of what is going on.

Some of the skills I want to work on throughout my career is to think more outside the box, be more creative, and be more open to interesting ideas. I think that I always have been a realistic person and have always shut down any ideas that seem outlandish or unreachable. Over the next few years I would like to keep those thoughts in my mind. The greatest inventions start out as something that nobody could ever think of coming a reality. By me allowing myself to go after things that are a little bit far fetched, I will open myself to new ideas and new ways of problem solving.

I wouldn’t say their are any specific skills that I want to work on over the next few years. I’m just looking to become a well rounded person, that is able to do so many things. Over my last few years of college, I just hope I work on my public speaking skills more, so I can sell my innovation ideas for the future.
