Goodbye Seoul, Hello Gyeongju!

It was sad to say goodbye and leave Seoul after such an amazing week full of some once in a lifetime experiences, but it was exciting to move on in our journey to visit more of South Korea. We got up around 7:30 to finish packing and to get ready to leave to go to Gyeongju. After breakfast and checking out of our rooms, we got onto the bus and were ready for the trip, which was going to be about 4-5 hours. We made our first stop approximately 2 hours into the trip as we stopped at a rest area that was larger than any rest stop that I have seen in the United States. We were able to get some Krispy Kreme Doughnuts which was great as it reminds us of home and gives us some energy for the rest of the trip. We had about 20 minutes to walk around, get some snacks or coffee, and to get back to the bus. After a little over an hour we stopped again at another rest area to get some lunch. I decided to get ramen, which was really good. Then we got back to the bus and took the rest of trip to Gyeongju. It is smaller town and area compared to Seoul, but it is really nice and has amazing views with the mountains surrounding the city. We had nothing planned today after getting to the hotel, so a group of us wanted to go out and explore the city to see what they have. As we walked around and got to see a lot most of the area around the hotel, it was amazing how nice of the view are in this town how the culture is different in Korea. We also stopped to get dinner at a restaurant before we went back to the hotel to relax and get some rest before we a busy day tomorrow full of cultural visits.
